MY STORY
My name is Mhark Remigio. I was born in the Philippines and moved to Las Vegas, NV at the age of five. As a child, art had a profound affect on my life. Drawing and crafting seemed to come naturally to me and I would take joy in exploring various fine art mediums, like colored pencils and markers, to molding and making with materials, like construction paper and paper cups.

Through high school my passion for art continued to stay with me, and a milestone came during my Junior year when my art teacher, Mrs. McCubbin, encouraged the class to enter an art piece in the Red Rock Canyon BLM art contest. I didn't expect to win, but I entered a colored pencil piece with a collage of various Mojave desert animals. To my surprise I had won and my artwork was turned into their next annual pass. At the time, I didn't know that this event would later affect my career choice a year later.

During my senior year in high school, Mrs. McCubbin had us take a field trip to the Art Institute of Las Vegas. It was here that I knew where I wanted to go after high school, but I had yet figured out what I wanted to do. An interview with a school recruiter helped me decide as she reviewed my artwork. When it came to exploring the piece that helped me win the BLM art contest she suggested I follow a course in graphic design. I didn't know what graphic design was at the time, but I decided to explore the path and I'm very happy I did.

Today, I currently work for Cashman Photo as a graphic designer and digital post processor. My primary responsibilities include digital post processing of event photos from various clients such as CISCO, Dell, VMWare, and other national, residential, and commercial clientele. When I am not post processing photographs, I am designing flyers, updating catalogs, and maintaining websites for the company. The job is surprisingly challenging and demanding, but I continue to face it with the same passion I had since I was a child.

In my free time I partake in creative hobbies like photography, drawing, and crocheting. Yes, I crochet and I enjoy it. Daily, I train in the martial art, Aikido, where I focus on improving my inner self and helping others do the same.
