ARTS & CRAFTS PROJECTS
MARIO KART COSTUME - YOSHI KART
October 2023

This project started when my cousin asked me to create a mario kart costume for her costume day at school. She's a teacher by-the-way. She was part of a group of teachers who were all going as Mario Kart characters. She was Yoshi.
Using cardboard, hot glue, and drafting tape, I constructed a frame which I then painted, detailed, and finished off with a pair of straps that would lie on the wearer's shoulders.
I ended up making the car look like a Formula 1 racer based on reference photos, but this was incorrect. I think my mind was on the upcoming F1 race series that was to occur where I live.
Although, my cousin loved it in the end and as far as I know, she still has it to this day. A couple of fun features included spinning cardboard wheels, and a squeaky horn made from the old squeak pouch, my dog delightfully pulled from her stuffed toy.
MARIO KART COSTUME - PRINCESS PEACH KART
October 2023

After updating my cousing on the status of her costume, one of her friends asked if I could make her costume as well. All I had to work with was a flimsy cut piece of cardboard, but I immediately knew how I could improve it.
After more drafting tape, and cardboard, I was able to re-enforce the original piece, spray paint it, and "pimp it out" with decals.
Concrete Water Fountain Experiments
June 2023

I was watching too many YouTube videos this day, caught inspiration of crafters creating water fountains from concrete and styrafoam, and decided I wanted to give it a try.

Following all the YouTube video's I watched, I went and grabbed the necessary supplies: styrafoam, portland concrete, and sand.
2026 Graduation Sign Props
June 2023

I had bought a laser engraver/cutter and one of the first major projects I did with it was to create sign props for photo use for my emplyer.. We do graduation photos and I wanted to make sure were were prepared for the upcoming 25-26 school year.
I made three different designs, each with unique paint jobs; one gold, one silver, one speckled. I overlapped the years with text, and painted the text with special glitter paint that would give a unique color to the sign when angled to the camera.
